    It is attributed to the Fleming Abraham Brueghel, who worked in Rome and Naples, indicating the international exchanges that shaped the genre of still life.
    Abraham Brueghel was a Flemish painter from the famous Brueghel family of artists. He emigrated at a young age to Italy where he played an important role in the development of the style of decorative Baroque still life.

    Lajos Kántor was a student of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts between 1949 and 1954, where Gyula Hincz, Endre Domanovszky, Bernáth Aurél, and Jenő Barcsay were his teachers. From 1958 to 1964, he was a member of the artist group called Hatok “The Six”. In 1968, he was a scholarship recipient of the Hungarian Academy in Rome; In 1972, his work was recognized with the Munkácsy Award. In 1973, he received the Grand Prize of the Metropolitan Council, and in 1975, the prize of the Art Fund. Since 1991, he has been a member of the Hungarian Fine Arts Association. In 1976, he went on a study trip to France.
    His decorative, constructive image structures compress the visual into symbols, in which he believes in the humanistic values of life and the human awareness that counterbalances the destructive effect of technical civilization.
